You know him as presidential candidate Decanus Picto. But he's also a spacemusic artist with a new musical recording available.
Picto’s new album, Long Tokes at the Gravity Well, available for $2.97 here.
Where does he find time for the campaign and releasing music? Well he was asked just that by @NomieHomie of #NomieVision. Picto's reply, "Um, life is a full time job and I'm working hard at it."
The new album has been released and it is already making musical waves. Here's what two reviewers have said:
1. It is rare indeed that a present-day record can compare favorably with Beethoven's ninth, let alone the monolithic fifth, but if there is a record that can stand such comparison, it is Long Tokes at the Gravity Well. Combine the emotional/intuitive compositional prowess of Beethoven (because he is far to [sic] warm to be compared to the icy Mozart) with the virtuosity of John 5 or Buckethead, and you have Decanus Picto. Tokes has the structure of a fully-formed, though short - there are three distinct movements - symphony. Plus it's like beep. Beep. Boop. That's awesome, right? And it's about, you know. . . outer space. Look for more from this up-and-coming revolutionary young artist. And prepare for the paradigm shift that will bear his name - Decanism.
2. Modern spacemusicians often develop their work for the mood enhancing qualities desired rather than share emotions of past experiences through the music. But not so with Picto's Long Tokes At The Gravity Well. While listening to this brilliant recording, one can hear and feel the influences of his distant space travel and the long cycles of cold space experienced during his alien abduction. Tokes will be highly satisfying to both those with a nostalgic wanting for the Golden Age of Spacemusic, when outside influences mattered, as well as those who seek art that is more than a repeating of the past. Tokes is an album of modest length that is rooted to the traditions of classic spacemusic yet is on its own cosmic plane of another music reality.
You can purchase your copy for only $2.97.

When I first heard this album I was enjoying my Vanilla Latte from Starbucks and I actually dropped it because I was in such aww of this beautiful music. At first I was so pissed that I dropped my coffee but then I was ok because it made me so happy like I was listening to Gwen Stefani or the Offspring. It was like a scene in a movie where the sky opens up and you see a beautiful sunshine and a rainbow, brought a frickin' tear to my eye. If a man can make this great of music he deserves to be our President in 2012!
